Manchester City defender John Stones appeared in press statements after the 1-1 draw against Arsenal, in the fifth round of the English Premier League.

He said about his participation as a substitute: “You feel frustrated because you do not start in such big matches, and before the match I tried to take advantage of that and have a positive attitude if necessary.”

He added: “We have learned Over the years as a team we have to stay united, no matter who plays and always be ready - I'm sure you've heard the manager say that many times."

He stressed:" I went in and tried to get inside the penalty area to get more crosses. One of the balls fell to me and fortunately I put it into the opponent's net. I'm really happy to score the goal like that."

He concluded regarding Pep Guardiola’s words before his entry: “He wanted me to play close to Erling, and to advance up the field so that we could win more aerial duels when we receive crosses. Did he ask you that before? No, but we are a team that moves a lot.” And you have to see if there is a player who is not in his position to take his place.”
