Ekong joined the Saudi Al Khulud Club from the Greek club PAOK during the last summer Mercato.
Ekong said in statements reported by the Nigerian newspaper "Bulls Sports" that he received a huge offer. He cannot be denied immortality.
He added: "I am thirty-one years old now, and I must look at things differently and see the whole picture."
He continued: “I think that the Saudi league has become very competitive in the recent period, with the presence of players like Benzema, Kante and Fabinho.”
