Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in a press conference, after the victory over Atalanta with two unanswered goals, in the European Super Cup final.

The coach said in his speech: “It was a difficult match. To me, playing against Atalanta feels like going to the dentist. I congratulated Gasperini and his team.”

He added: “Mbappe has a lot of quality.” He is a great player. Today he performed well and scored a goal.”

He added: “Bellingham, Vinicius, Mbappe, Rodrigo? It is very difficult to compare the current team to the team of 2014. We were great with Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo, that attack was amazing.”

He continued: “David Alaba is recovering well, but We have to go with him little by little.”

And about the midfielders: “The three midfielders did a good job today in a difficult match in the first half. The most difficult thing is to find the balance, with a lot of quality in attack,  they put in a lot of effort, it was a difficult match, as many duels were one-on-one. The first half was not good, but the three midfielders were very good in defence.”

He concluded: “Would Camavinga have played if he had not been injured? Yes, I had that option but unfortunately he suffered an injury and was unable to play.”
