According to journalist Santi Ona, Conceição is highly regarded by Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of SSC Napoli, who considers the Portuguese coach among his potential options to lead the team.

This is not the first time Sérgio Conceição's name has been associated with the SSC Napoli job, as he was close to taking over in 2021 and 2023, before Porto's demands for the full release clause prevented the agreement from being completed.
