US Lecce has officially announced that midfielder Ivane Urrubal suffered a serious injury during the match against Bologna, after the player underwent further medical examinations that confirmed the nature of the injury.

The club has announced that tests revealed a tendon injury in the left rectus femoris muscle, with partial damage to the tendons, necessitating surgical intervention to treat the injury.

Elić is set to undergo surgery next Tuesday at the Pihlajalinna Hospital in Turku, Finland, under the supervision of Professor Lassi Leimpainen, a specialist in such injuries.

The injury represents a significant blow for the team as they await the outcome of the surgery and subsequent medical evaluations to determine the player's absence from the pitch and the date of his return to training and matches.
