Enrique: We delivered a fantastic defensive performance against Barcelona, and this is the key to winning titles

Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, praised his team's performance during their 4-2 victory over Barcelona, emphasizing the difficulty of the match and the strength of the opponent. He also highlighted the importance of adapting to match conditions to achieve victories and collect titles.

In his post-match comments, Luis Enrique explained that the encounter went according to his expectations, saying: "I watched a match exactly as I anticipated, it was very difficult and complicated; you only realize the level of Barcelona when you face them. The match was very balanced, we had a very good first half, during which we dominated Barcelona and regained possession in the opponent's half."

He added: "In the second half, we struggled for about 10 to 15 minutes, but we managed to regain control after that, we took the lead, which gave us calm."

Paris Saint-Germain's coach spoke about the importance of adapting to different playing styles, stating: "In order to win matches and important titles against opponents who possess the same level as you, you must know how to adapt to the playing conditions. We had to defend with a low block for 15 minutes, but we know how to execute attacking transitions; the key is knowing how to adapt."

He continued: "Last year, against Bayern Munich, we had to defend for sure, the opponents have a high level, and they can decide matches in their favor."

Luis Enrique praised the defensive work of his players, especially the forwards, stating: "It will be the first trap we fall into if we think we are better than others or that we are an exceptional team. We put in a great defensive performance today, especially from the forwards. We were significantly superior in regaining possession during the first half, and that is down to our forwards."

He added: "Either you defend by supporting your teammates, or it becomes impossible to defend against players like Pedri and Dani Olmo."

The Paris Saint-Germain manager concluded his statements by discussing his relationship with Barcelona, saying: "I am a fan of Barcelona, but I am a professional and I enjoy my team's victories."
