Real Madrid targets Zubimendi and McTominay in summer 2027

Real Madrid are targeting Martín Zubimendi, an Arsenal player, and Scott McTominay, a Napoli player, to strengthen their midfield in the summer of 2027, according to Spanish newspaper "Sport" as reported by "TEAMtalk".

Real Madrid are looking to improve their midfield options, with Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos unavailable. The report suggests that Martín Zubimendi represents a suitable option, after Real Madrid failed to sign him before his move from Real Sociedad to Arsenal.

Martín Zubimendi has not started any Premier League match this season for Arsenal, which could open the door for his departure, especially as a move to Real Madrid may offer him a key role.

Scott McTominay has improved his performance with Napoli, but the presence of Jude Bellingham in the attacking midfield position may limit his suitability for Real Madrid's needs.

According to the same source, Real Madrid are studying the possibility of signing the Scottish player on a free transfer, taking advantage of the stalled negotiations to renew his contract with Napoli, despite his current contract running until the summer of 2028.
