AS FAR Rabat returned with a goalless draw against their Ivorian hosts Korhogo in the match that took place today, Saturday, as part of the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The military team delivered a good performance during the match, successfully managing the flow of play in a remarkable manner, coming close to securing an away victory. However, a lack of effectiveness in front of goal and the waste of some clear chances prevented them from translating their superiority into goals.

AS FAR Rabat showed the ability to match their opponent on their own turf, while continuing to search for a goal that would give them the advantage before the return leg. However, their attempts did not yield any change in the score.

Al-Bouchkali came close to snatching the winning goal in the dying minutes of the match, after he had a significant opportunity, but his shot went wide of the Ivorian goal, costing his team the chance to secure victory in the final moments.

Despite the goalless draw, the result gives AS FAR Rabat the chance to continue competing for a qualification spot starting from their home ground, as they will need to capitalize on the advantages of playing at home and the support of their fans to secure victory in the return leg.

The return match is scheduled for October 23 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, starting at 10 PM.

The Confederation of African Football has exempted AS FAR Rabat from participating in the first preliminary round of the competition, based on their ranking at the continental level.
