Black Army escalate their protest and announce boycott of AS FAR Rabat match
The Black Army group has intensified its protests against AS FAR Rabat's management just days before the team begins its campaign in the new season. They announced a boycott of the upcoming match against Wydad Temara, scheduled for this Thursday, as part of the third round of the Botola Pro "Inwi".
The group confirmed that its decision is a continuation of the protest movement that began in the last round of last season, stating that its position is not related to the start of the season or the team's results, but rather to demands it claims have been consistent since the end of last season.
The 'Black Army' criticized AS FAR Rabat in an official statement, accusing the management of trying to 'divert the discussion' and distract fans with what they deemed marginal topics instead of addressing what they described as 'management disasters'.
The group emphasized that the essence of the dispute does not relate to the presence of fans or the way tickets and subscriptions are purchased, asserting that their main demand is for a "radical reform" within the club.
Black Army has stated that calls to turn a new page do not align with the reality of the club, given that the same names, structure, and mentalities continue to persist, asserting that real change has not yet occurred.
The escalation of the group comes after a season in which AS FAR Rabat finished their competitions without winning any titles. Meanwhile, the military fans hold the club's management responsible for the loss of several titles over the past three seasons, and they believe that changing the results alone is not enough to end the ongoing dispute.
In its concluding statement, Black Army announced a boycott of AS FAR Rabat's match against Wydad Témara, confirming that the move is an "extension of the protest action" it began during the match against Renaissance Zemamra in the 30th round of last season, followed by the boycott of the subsequent King's Cup match.
The group confirmed that the boycott aims to reaffirm its demands, which it described as steadfast and not linked to current results or the start of a new season, indicating its continued stance regarding the club's management during the upcoming phase.
