Mohamed Barakat: Amouta's plan helped Al Ahly achieve victory
Mohamed Barakat, the former star of Al Ahly FC and the Egypt national team, praised the Moroccan Al-Hussein Amouta, the head coach of Al Ahly FC, confirming that the strategy he employed in the derby match against Zamalek helped the Reds to secure victory.
Mohamed Barakat, during his appearance on the "Ya Masaa Al Anwar" program hosted by media figure Medhat Shalaby on "MBC Masr 2", stated that Al Ahly FC has an outstanding goalkeeper who successfully dealt with the balls that came to him during the match, and delivered a performance that contributed to the team achieving the desired result.
Mohamed Barakat highlighted the strong motivations driving Al Ahly FC players in derby matches, confirming that these major encounters represent an exceptional incentive for every player to give their utmost. He also pointed out that this desire to shine is particularly amplified among those who have a previous background with Zamalek SC, as it presents them with an additional challenge to prove their worth and leave a significant mark in the clásico.
It was pointed out that Zizo, Emam Ashour, and Achraf Bencharki have previously played for Zamalek SC, which makes the Cairo derby particularly special for them, considering that the white team was their former club.
Barakat explained that a group of key players did not manage to deliver the expected performance during the match. He also pointed out the usual drop in performance from the trio Zizo, Emam Ashour, and Achraf Bencharki, considering that this fluctuation is a natural part of football, as any player goes through matches where they fall short of their usual level and cannot deliver their best.
