AC Milan have officially announced that the medical examinations undergone by defender Matteo Gabbia revealed an injury to the left hamstring, with partial damage to the tendon, after he sustained the injury during the match against US Sassuolo in Serie A, which ended in a 1-1 draw last Sunday.

According to Italian reports, Matteo Gabbia's absence is expected to last between three and four months. The player may opt for conservative treatment and rehabilitation, which could allow for a return in about three months. However, if a decision is made to undergo surgery, the recovery period could extend to four months. A specialized medical consultation is expected to determine the most appropriate treatment path for his condition.

This injury places the coaching staff of AC Milan in front of a major defensive challenge in the upcoming period, given the pressure of matches and multiple commitments.
