Turkish journalist: Salah the right-hand man of Trabzonspor's coach on the pitch
A famous Turkish journalist praised Egyptian Mohamed Salah, Trabzonspor player, after the Pharaohs' team defeated Samsunspor last Saturday in the Süper Lig.
Trabzonspor won against Samsunspor 3-0 last Saturday in the 7th round of the Süper Lig.
Trabzonspor faced a numerical disadvantage against Samsunspor before the half-time break, after player Melih Kabasakal received a red card for getting into an altercation with one of the opposing team's players that escalated into a headbutt.
Sercan Genç, the Turkish media figure and sports director of the Turkish channel "Kadırga TV", stated in remarks published by the 61saat network today: "There was curiosity to see how the team would react in such a critical moment, especially since they might face similar situations in the future. Their reaction was important and distinctive; we saw them fighting with real ferocity."
He added: "Mohamed Salah is more than just a football player for Trabzonspor; regardless of his goal contributions, he represents a vital element in enhancing the collective fighting spirit and camaraderie within the team, and he serves as a role model for young players."
He continued: "And although he is not the captain of the team, he acts as the right-hand man for the coach on the pitch, he has immense experience and it is important to benefit from it. His reaction to the red card incident involving Capasacal illustrates this, proving that the team's spirit has reached an exceptional level."
Mohamed Salah was furious after the red card shown to Kabaşakal and got into a confrontation with a Samsunspor player, who fell after Kabaşakal's challenge against him, in response to the red card received by his teammate.
