Trabzonspor thrash Samsun 3-0 to temporarily rise to third place
Trabzonspor secured a valuable away victory, defeating Samsunspor by three goals to nil in the match held at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadium, as part of the Turkish Süper Lig. This win temporarily lifts them to third place in the standings, despite playing the second half with ten men.
The visiting team established their dominance in the first half, scoring three goals in 13 minutes, starting with Ernest Mushe in the 27th minute, after he capitalized on a pass from Mustafa Eskilehletach to give Trabzonspor the lead.
The team's attacking effectiveness continued as Chibuki Nwaezu scored the second goal in the 38th minute, before Franculino capped off the three-goal haul just two minutes later, specifically in the 40th minute, benefiting from an assist provided by Egyptian Mohamed Salah.
The final minutes of the first half were not without incident, as Trabzonspor received a significant blow with the sending off of Melih Kabasakal in the 43rd minute, leaving the team to complete the match with a reduced number of players and facing a tough challenge in the second half.
Despite having a numerical advantage, Samsunspor failed to capitalize on their opponent's shortcomings and get back into the game, while Trabzonspor maintained their defensive solidity and held on to a three-goal lead until the final whistle.
With this win, Trabzonspor have raised their tally to 13 points, temporarily moving up to third place in the Turkish league, while Samsunspor remain on four points.
