Spanish newspaper "Marca" has revealed that Real Madrid's management supports coach José Mourinho's decision not to attend the press conference following the match against Villarreal, amid the anger that engulfed him after the events of the game.

According to the newspaper, a source close to the coach indicated that Mourinho would have found it difficult to control his nerves if he had attended the press conference, which could have exposed him to a harsh suspension.

Real Madrid's stance comes amid the tension that followed the match, after Villarreal's game saw controversial events, most notably the sending off of Vinicius Junior and the disallowance of his goal, which sparked anger within the ranks of Real Madrid.

The club's management seems to have preferred to support Mourinho's decision to avoid escalating the situation, especially with important matches coming up for the team, notably against FC Barcelona.
