Gattuso after Lazio win: We struggle to manage matches and luck was on our side

Gennaro Gattuso, the head coach of SS Lazio, has confirmed that his team needs to improve their performance in managing matches, despite the victory over Monza by a score of 3-1 in the sixth round of Serie A.

Gattuso stated in remarks to "DAZN": "The drop in performance in the second half? This is not the first time this has happened, it seemed similar to what happened in the second half against AC Milan. I praised the players after the first half, but we must not allow our opponents anything."

He added: "If we want to continue surprising everyone, we need to improve our defensive coverage and deal with second balls. We must execute things correctly, as we are not good at managing matches, and that is a fact."

Lazio's coach said: "We were lucky today, just like against AC Milan. This cannot continue like this, and we cannot allow our opponents to dominate and suffer in this way. We need to develop further."

Gattuso concluded his remarks by stressing the need to concentrate on daily work, explaining that his team is aware of the difficulties they face, and that he does not want to be preoccupied with the top spot at the moment, but rather to continue working and improving performance match after match.
