AS Monaco clarifies Balogun's situation after being left out of the team's plans
Philippe Luis has revealed the latest updates on American striker Folarin Balogun, who remained with AS Monaco despite nearing a move to Everton in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Balogun, aged 25, was out of AS Monaco's plans at the beginning of the season before getting a chance to play for 15 minutes against Lens, in a match that ended with AS Monaco winning 2-1, just before the international break.
Felipe Luis stated in an interview with "RMC": "He has gone through the entire preparation period since the end of the World Cup and participated in his last minutes before the break. Volarín has worked hard during the break to return to his best levels."
The Brazilian coach added: "He is ready to fight for a place in the team. He is a very good player and showed impressive levels last season."
Willem Balogun hopes to regain his place in the AS Monaco lineup in the coming period, after his coach confirmed his readiness to compete for a starting position.
