Suárez celebrates Messi after his last match with Argentina

Luis Suárez has sent an emotional message to his friend and former teammate Lionel Messi following the Argentina captain's last match for his country, during the victory over Benin by three goals to nil, a match in which Messi scored a goal alongside Nicolás Otamendi and Nico Paz.

Luis Suárez wrote on his Instagram account: "Hey fat, today you leave a legacy filled with records, great moments, and unforgettable memories as a player for your national team. You have made history in football in South America and the world."

Inter Miami forward added: "Wherever you went, you left your mark, but you always respected your opponents, and that makes you so much greater. I congratulate you on every achievement you have made, because you never gave up, and because you taught many of us that if a person wants to achieve their dreams, they can achieve them."

Suárez continued his talk about his close friend: "You are a role model as a player, and that is clear, but you are also a great example as a person, as a teammate, and as a friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am forever grateful to have experienced you. I love you so much!".
