Kyle Walker: They cannot take away what we achieved with Manchester City

Kyle Walker, the former captain of Manchester City, has asserted that the ruling in the case of the financial allegations directed at the club will not, in his view, erase the achievements and titles that the players have secured over the past years.

An independent committee concluded that over £830 million from the club's owners was used to inflate revenues and assist Manchester City in adhering to the financial regulations of the Premier League and UEFA, through a series of arrangements that the committee described as "notional", over a span of nine years. The club continues to contest the decision.

Kyle Walker, who spent eight years with Manchester City between 2017 and 2025, contributed to one of the club's most successful periods, winning the UEFA Champions League along with 12 domestic titles.

Walker stated in remarks to "Talksport": "It is clear that things do not look good. I know that the case is still in the appeal stage, so it is not appropriate for me to start commenting on the legal proceedings and everything related to it."

He added: "But on a personal level, I can say that we have spent many wonderful years celebrating numerous titles and all those achievements, and that is something they cannot take away from us no matter what happens, because we lived those nights."

He continued: "Whatever will happen, will happen, and the matter is now left to the appeal and what will follow from it."

Walker pointed out that the issue represents a difficult topic for former players at Manchester City, explaining: "It's something we probably don't want to talk about, because we want to be seen as having won those trophies the right way."

He added: "It's very difficult because we have worked hard for those competitions, and I'm not just talking about ourselves, but I also look at the fans. I remember the supporters who traveled back and forth across the country, who traveled abroad, to Istanbul when we won the treble, and they also deserve that night."
