Enzo Maresca, the manager of Manchester City, is anticipating the return of duo Marc Guéhi and Elliot Anderson from the international break, amid growing concerns about the impact of fatigue on their readiness ahead of the anticipated clash against Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League.

Elliot Anderson has made 20 international appearances for England in just 392 days since his debut, becoming the fastest to reach this number in the national team's history. He has also played a key role with Manchester City this season, having been a regular presence with Nottingham Forest last season before participating with the national team in the FIFA World Cup.

Joao Cancelo's situation is not much different, as he has become one of Manchester City's standout players since his transfer from Crystal Palace, establishing himself as the team's best defender this season. He has also started in England's last three matches during the current international break, alongside Elliot Anderson.

Mariska hopes for the return of players without any injuries or additional fatigue, especially with Manchester City facing Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, before hosting Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. Concerns are growing after Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, and Nico O'Reilly suffered issues during the break, reflecting the physical pressure on players who have endured long and intense seasons.

Anderson and Jowheh Salmin's return from international duty is a key priority for Mariska, who understands that their absence or lack of full readiness could make the task against Liverpool more difficult, especially with the team's schedule crowded with domestic and European matches.
