Tunisian club Esperance suffers blow with defenders out injured
Espérance Sportive de Tunis has received a significant blow ahead of their return to national league competition, as it has been confirmed that two of their defenders will be sidelined for the upcoming period due to injury, with a considerable difference in the duration of their absence from the pitch.
Espérance de Tunis will miss the services of right-back Mohamed Ben Ali, who suffered a muscle injury that will keep him out for a period of three to four weeks, preventing him from participating in several upcoming fixtures.
In contrast, Espérance has announced that defender Marwan Al-Sahrawi has suffered a torn cruciate ligament during the friendly match against Al-Ittihad Al-Askeri. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days, with the exact duration of his absence yet to be determined.
The absence of players comes as Espérance prepares to resume national league competition, having returned to training ahead of their match against Olympique Beja on Saturday, in the upcoming round of the competition.
The coaching staff of Espérance de Tunis is preparing for the upcoming phase amid the long absence of Sahrawi and the sidelining of Ben Ali for several weeks, which forces the team to cope with defensive shortages in the upcoming challenges.
