Son Heung-min has made history for South Korea by becoming the all-time top scorer for the Taeguk Warriors after scoring a goal during their 2-0 victory over Uzbekistan in a friendly match.


The South Korean captain has increased his international goal tally to 59 in 151 matches, surpassing the previous record held by Cha Bum-kun, who scored 58 goals in 136 appearances for South Korea.


Hwang Sun-hong ranks third in the all-time top scorers list with 50 goals in 103 matches, followed by Park Lee-chun with 36 goals in 89 matches, and then Kim Jae-han, who scored 33 goals in 57 matches.


Son, the former Tottenham star and current Los Angeles FC player, continues to write history with his national team, having become the record holder for international goals for South Korea.
