De la Fuente: All teams have quality, and the numbers are amazing
Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of Spain, spoke about the 3-1 victory over the Czech Republic in the third round of the UEFA Nations League, praising the quality of the opponents and the level his team is showing despite the numerous changes in the lineup.
De la Fuente said: "Suffering shows the football level of the teams we face; either you deliver your best version, or you are at your best days, otherwise the opponent can hurt you. All teams have quality."
He added about the impact of the changes during the match: "In the second half, we lacked a bit of fluidity; the changes also affect and break the rhythm of the game a little. Although the mentality of the players is always commendable and wonderful, we missed that brilliance that appeared in the first half."
Regarding the victory and Spain's continued lead in the group, he said: "We are very happy, another win and the numbers are amazing, we are still at the top of the group, and the match against Croatia could be decisive."
Speaking about the numerous changes and reliance on new elements, he said: "The team does not stop evolving, and it does not stop presenting players for the future. We finished the match with only one player who participated in the World Cup final; we will continue to bet on this matter."
Speaking about the encounter with Santi Denia and Pablo Amo, the head coach and assistant coach of the Czech Republic national team, De la Fuente said: "It was very emotional, we have great memories together, very touching, they are both wonderful professionals, I liked how they changed the team, I wish them all the best."
