Arsenal close to renewing Rice's contract amid uncertainty over trio's future
Arsenal are making progress in negotiations to renew midfielder Declan Rice's contract, while the club has yet to start new talks with Martin Ødegaard, David Raya, and Kai Havertz, despite the trio being tied to contracts until June 2028.
According to "TEAMtalk" citing "CaughtOffside", negotiations between Arsenal and David Raya are progressing positively, with optimism about reaching an agreement, although final details have not yet been settled.
Rice has joined Arsenal from West Ham for £105 million in July 2023, and has since become one of the team's key players. His current contract runs until June 2028, but Arsenal are keen to extend it alongside improving his salary in recognition of his performances.
Meanwhile, negotiations for the renewals with Martin Ødegaard, David Raya, and Kai Havertz have not yet begun, although Arsenal are confident in their ability to secure their continuance. Reports indicate that the delay in talks does not necessarily mean there is a problem, but the club would not want this situation to persist for too long.
Martin Ødegaard was linked with a summer exit, but speculation has calmed following his strong start to the season. Arsenal have already renewed the contracts of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba as part of their efforts to retain their key players.
