Hamdaoui: We came back from afar and the draw is satisfactory against Burundi

Ibrahim Hamdani, the coach of the Algerian national team, praised his players' reaction during the match against Burundi, in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification 2027, after the "Greens" managed to return from Bujumbura with a draw despite a difficult start.

Hamdaoui admitted that the Algerian national team did not enter the match as required, after conceding two early goals that put them in a difficult position, before the players managed to rectify the situation and come away with minimal damage.

The coach of the 'Greens' stated during the press conference that followed the match: 'We did not start the game well, and we conceded two difficult goals for our morale, which could have been avoided.'

Hamdaní added: "The most important thing is that we came back from far behind, and the Burundi national team played all their cards," praising his players' ability to return to the atmosphere of the match despite being two goals down.

He continued: "The only positive thing is the point from the draw, and this point remains satisfactory considering the course of the match," confirming that the Algerian national team succeeded in avoiding defeat and returning from Bujumbura with a draw.
