New details in Zidane's contract with France

French newspaper "L'Équipe" has revealed details of Zinedine Zidane's contract with France, stating that the coach will receive a fixed monthly salary of €300,000 before taxes, which is the same fixed salary that his predecessor Didier Deschamps received.

According to the report, the most notable difference between Zidane's contract and Deschamps' contract does not relate to the basic monthly salary, but rather to the method of calculating bonuses and incentives associated with working with the France national team.

L'Équipe has reported that Zinedine Zidane has given up bonuses related to image rights, which could have reached around €44,000 per match for the coach, in exchange for larger incentives linked to participation and results in major tournaments, primarily the FIFA World Cup and the European Championship.

The French Football Federation has officially appointed Zidane as the head coach of the national team, succeeding Deschamps, on a four-year contract that includes upcoming tournaments, primarily the UEFA Nations League, the European Championship 2028, and the FIFA World Cup 2030.

The disclosure of Zinedine Zidane's contract details comes as he officially starts his mission with the France national team, following a period away from coaching since leaving Real Madrid in 2021. Over the past few years, he chose to wait for the opportunity to lead the "Les Bleus" instead of returning to club management.

Zidane began his tenure with the France national team with a win over Turkey by a goal to nil, followed by a victory over the Belgium national team by the same scoreline in the UEFA Nations League.
