Gasperini refuses Dybala and Molina's trip to Messi's farewell

Gian Piero Gasperini, the head coach of AS Roma, has vetoed Paulo Dybala and Nahuel Molina's travel to Argentina to attend Lionel Messi's farewell match with the Argentina national team, scheduled against Benin on October 6 at the Monumental Stadium.

The Argentine Football Association invited Dybala and Molina, along with members of the squad that won the FIFA World Cup 2022, to attend Messi's farewell ceremony from the stands, despite not calling them up to participate in the match.

Gasperini believes the trip to Buenos Aires, which takes about 14 hours one way, will cost players three days of training, just five days before AS Roma's match against Como in Serie A, and a week before the team's game against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Gasperini is expected to speak with Dybala and Molina when training resumes, after which a final decision will be made regarding their travel to Argentina, especially since the players wish to attend the historic night to bid farewell to Messi in the national team shirt.
