Eric Garcia was initially included in the starting lineup chosen by De La Fuente for the match, but a sudden injury led to his exclusion, with Marc Pubill taking his place in the starting XI against England.

García's absence comes at a time when he had the opportunity to play at right-back, with Marcos Llorente missing and having retired from international duty, alongside Pedro Porro's absence.
