Officially.. Al-Aqeedi out of the Green's plans for Gulf 27

Georgios Donis, the head coach of the Saudi national team, has excluded goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi from the Green's camp in Jeddah after it was confirmed that he is unfit to participate in the Gulf Cup "Gulf 27".

The Saudi national team's official account via the platform 'X' reported that the decision to exclude Al-Aqeedi was based on the results of medical tests he underwent to assess his injury to his elbow.

The tests revealed that the goalkeeper needs a treatment and rehabilitation program, confirming his inability to participate in the upcoming period, which means he will be excluded from the plans of the Saudi national team's coaching staff for the tournament.

Al-Aqeedi suffered an injury during the match between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, after falling in the 78th minute while attempting to clear a cross following a free kick.

After five minutes, the coaching staff decided to substitute Al-Aqeedi, with Mohammed Al-Owais coming on in his place. Meanwhile, Donis had called up Abdulqadoos Atiyah, the Al-Ula goalkeeper, to join the Green camp.
