Esperance Tunis close to signing Pablo Franco to replace Reghecampf

Esperance Tunis are set to make a change in their coaching staff, having reached an agreement with Spanish coach Pablo Franco to take charge of the first team in the upcoming period, replacing Romanian Laurentiu Reghecampf.

This move comes at a time when the departure of Reghecamp from the team is close to an official announcement, after the Romanian coach was absent on Tuesday morning from the departure of the Esperance Tunis delegation to the city of Ain Draham, where the team is holding a closed camp that lasts a full week during the current international break.

According to Tunisian media reports, Reghecampf's absence is not limited to him alone, as all members of his Romanian coaching staff also missed the camp, indicating that the relationship between the two parties may be nearing its end.

In light of these developments, Esperance Tunis have acted quickly to maintain the regularity of preparations, as Belgian coach Joel Carreha joined the team's delegation and took charge of training temporarily, until the procedures for contracting the Spanish coach are completed.

Pablo Franco is expected to arrive in Tunisia within the next 24 hours to finalize the agreement and officially sign the contracts, before joining the team's camp and starting his coaching duties.

These changes come at a critical time for Esperance Tunis, who are preparing for their upcoming continental challenge against Al-Suwaihli in the preliminary round, or the round of 32, of the CAF Champions League.

If the contract is officially completed, the match against Al-Suwaihly will be the first official test for the Spanish coach with Esperance Tunis, at the beginning of a new phase in which the team aims to achieve a strong start on the continental level.
