Christian Eriksen ends association with VfL Wolfsburg by mutual consent

VfL Wolfsburg have parted ways with midfielder Christian Eriksen after both parties reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract before its expiration.

Christian Eriksen's contract with VfL Wolfsburg was set to run until June 30, 2027, but both parties agreed to terminate it early, allowing the Danish player to be available for transfer to a new club in the near future.

Dieter Hecking, the sporting director of VfL Wolfsburg, said: "It was clear to us that the decision regarding his future lies with Christian. We wanted to give him the space to make his decision in these special circumstances, which is why we responded to his wish to terminate the contract."

Christian Eriksen leaves VfL Wolfsburg after a spell with the team, ending his association with the club nearly a year before his contract was due to expire. His football future remains open in the upcoming period.
