Tunisian club Esperance moves to sign former MAS Fes coach

Espérance Sportive de Tunis has begun its efforts to finalize the identity of the new coach, following an agreement with Romanian Laurentiu Reghecampf to end his association with the club, after a short period of just two months since he took over the coaching responsibilities.

The two parties have reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract, following a meeting between Rigikampf and the officials of Espérance yesterday, which lasted for more than three hours. The details of the agreement have not been disclosed, but the official announcement of the coach's departure is expected in the coming days.

Rigănică's time with Espérance is coming to an end as he considers an offer to return to Steaua Bucharest. Tunisian media reports indicate that the Romanian coach is preparing to join the club this week.

Rigecamf signed his contract with Esperance in June, but his experience with the team ended swiftly after about two months, opening the door for his potential return to the Romanian league.

In contrast, the management of Espérance has moved early to search for a successor, as the radio station "Mosaic FM" revealed that the club has entered negotiations with Spanish coach Pablo Franco, whose name has emerged strongly on the table of the Tunisian team.

Franco had taken over as coach of MAS Fes during the last season, successfully leading the team to win the Moroccan championship title, which prompted the management of Espérance to open advanced negotiations with him in order to finalize the contract as soon as possible.

The Tunisian club's management aims to use the current international break to give the Spanish coach a chance to quickly get to know the team and its components, in case a final agreement is reached regarding his appointment as the head coach.
