Morgan Gibbs-White joins England squad instead of Cole Palmer

The England coaching staff have decided to call up Morgan Gibbs-White, a Nottingham Forest player, to join the "Three Lions" squad during the current international break, instead of Cole Palmer who withdrew from the camp due to a minor injury.

Cole Palmer had returned to coach Thomas Tuchel's squad in preparation for the UEFA Nations League matches, before deciding to withdraw due to a physical problem, having featured as a key player in all of Chelsea's recent Premier League matches.

Gibbs White has been called up to replace Palmer as England prepare for four matches in the UEFA Nations League, starting with a clash against Spain at Wembley on September 26, followed by fixtures against the Czech Republic and Croatia, before concluding the break with a rematch against the Czech Republic on October 6.

Gibbs White hopes to seize the opportunity to return to the England squad and compete for a starting spot, while Palmer continues his recovery from injury before returning to Chelsea.
