Tunisian club Esperance nears deal for Ivorian striker Namory Keita

Espérance Sportive de Tunis are close to completing a new signing during the current summer transfer window, having reached an agreement with young Ivorian forward Namory Keita, a player from Racing Abidjan, as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad.

According to available data, Espérance have agreed terms with the 19-year-old player, with only final procedures remaining before the official announcement of the deal.

Kaita comes from the ranks of Racing Abidjan, where he progressed through the youth categories before making his debut with the first team in the Ivorian league. He has also represented the Ivory Coast national team at youth levels.

The young striker has delivered impressive performances with his national team under 20 during the UFOA-B tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Naby Keïta scored in Ivory Coast's victory over Benin by five goals to nil, before adding another goal against Niger, contributing to his country's top position in Group A with 6 points.

In the semi-final against Nigeria, the Ivorian striker continued his attacking brilliance, scoring both goals for Ivory Coast, the first in the 17th minute and the second in the 105th minute, before the match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Nigeria securing qualification through penalties.

The deal reflects Esperance's direction towards attracting young talents from the African continent, especially with Kaïta having experience with the first team of Racing Abidjan, alongside his international appearances with the Ivory Coast youth teams.

Esperance are set to benefit from the player's young age, in line with regulations regarding the recruitment of young foreign players, with final details expected to be settled before the official announcement of the deal.
