Tunisia reveals date for announcing Chaabani's squad for Uganda and Botswana matches
Moaz Mestiri, the head of the Tunisian national football team, has revealed that coach Moin Chabani is expected to announce the list of players called up for the matches against Uganda and Botswana next Friday, as part of the first and second rounds of Group E in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification for 2027.
Al-Mustiri explained that the list will be published on the official page of the Tunisian Football Federation on social media.
The Tunisian official, in a statement to the Tunis Afrique Presse agency, indicated that the hosting of the matches against Uganda and Botswana at the Hamadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades came after extensive communications with various stakeholders, aiming to provide the best conditions for the national team and assist it in achieving positive results at the start of the new phase.
In this context, Al-Mustiri confirmed the continuation of negotiations with the Mali national team to hold a Friendly match on October 3 at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades, explaining that all logistical arrangements have been made for the match, awaiting the final response from the Mali Football Federation after their initial approval of the proposal.
It was revealed that communications are ongoing with an African national team to hold a second Friendly match on October 6, confirming the Tunisian Football Federation's insistence on facing an African team, despite receiving offers from other national teams, including Jordan and Syria.
Tunisia will begin their Africa Cup of Nations Qualification campaign against Uganda on September 24 at the Hamadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades, starting at 8 PM, as part of the first round of Group E. Meanwhile, Libya will face Botswana in the same group and round.
