Arsenal renews interest in signing Rodrigo
Arsenal have renewed their contacts with representatives of Rodrigo, the Real Madrid winger, as they monitor the Brazilian player's recovery from the cruciate ligament injury he sustained during the match against Getafe last March.
TEAMtalk has learned that Rodrygo is making good progress in his rehabilitation program and has already started running, while Real Madrid's medical staff are handling his condition with caution, setting an initial return date for early next year.
In contrast, Rodrigo, aged 25, believes he is capable of returning before Christmas, which could lead Arsenal to reactivate their interest in signing him.
Arsenal had targeted Rodrygo to strengthen their left flank before his injury, and the club continued to communicate with Real Madrid throughout the summer. They also inquired about Endrick after failing in their attempt to sign Vinicius Junior.
Rodrigo remains an option for Arsenal, especially with the departures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, and the club only signing Christos Tzolis to strengthen the left side during the summer.
Rodrygo is contracted to Real Madrid until 2028, having joined the club from Santos in 2019. He has scored 71 goals and provided 57 assists in 297 matches.
