Crystal Palace president's anger puts Pierre Sage under pressure

Canvott has become a key player in the team's lineup during the second half of last season, following Marc Guéhi's transfer to Manchester City. He also started in Crystal Palace's first three matches in the Premier League this season. However, Sagh decided to exclude him against Ipswich, justifying his decision by citing his poor performance in the previous match against Fulham, along with his dissatisfaction with his level of commitment during training.

Saj stated after the match: "It was a technical decision, but I have to be honest, I didn't include him in the squad due to his match against Fulham and what he did during the week. I spoke to him, and I need more from him. I am sure of his ability to deliver that, and I expect a good reaction from him starting Monday."

Saj has made similar decisions with Dwight McNeil and Ivan Giesan when they were excluded against Fulham, which were appreciated by the club's management. However, the situation with Kanfoot is different, as the management considers the French defender an essential part of the club's project, and his exclusion has caused greater discontent.

This crisis coincided with the team's modest results, compounded by the absence of attacking duo Ismaïla Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta, following their failed departures during the summer transfer window. Matters became more difficult after French defender Axel Disasi was sent off in the 34th minute against Ipswich, a loss that deepened the team's troubled start.

Despite no official indications regarding Sagnol's future being released yet, his name has started to appear on the list of coaches most likely to be sacked according to betting markets, reflecting the pressure surrounding the French coach at this early stage of the season.
