Tunisian Esperance face Libya's Al-Suwaihli in CAF Champions League preliminary round

Espérance Sportive de Tunis will face Al-Suwaiq in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, after the Libyan team secured their qualification at the expense of Zanzibar's KV Zed.

Al-Suwaihli have qualified after beating their opponent by three goals to nil in the second leg played on Sunday, confirming their superiority after having secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg in Misrata, thus qualifying with an aggregate score of 4-0.

Espérance de Tunis was exempt from playing in the first preliminary round, thanks to its advanced ranking, and is now waiting to find out the identity of its opponent in the second round of the continental competition.

The first leg matches of the second preliminary round are set to take place between October 16 and 18, with the return legs scheduled for October 23 to 25.

Espérance de Tunis embarks on their continental journey in search of regaining the CAF Champions League title, having won the tournament four times in 1994, 2011, 2018, and 2019, along with their other African titles.
