Luis: Competition in Ligue 1 is strong and winning is not easy

Philippe Luis, Monaco's manager, expressed his satisfaction with his team's character during the 1-1 draw against Strasbourg, while also confirming that Ligue 1 is characterized by strong competition and that achieving victories is not an easy task in any match.

The Brazilian coach said: "Every match is tough in Ligue 1. It is a highly competitive league," referring to the strength of competition among clubs, before discussing the details of the encounter against Strasbourg and the circumstances that made the match difficult for his team.

Luis also spoke about the controversial moment involving Mattis Abline in the closing minutes, after Monaco players called for a penalty. He stated clearly: "It is a penalty. He tried to take the ball, but he touched Abline," considering that the intervention warranted a penalty for his team.

Monaco's coach also addressed the new rules implemented in Ligue 1, in light of the amendments related to handling certain situations during matches, explaining his view on the impact of these rules on the flow of games, and emphasizing the need to handle them correctly in order to protect players without affecting the fairness of competition.

Monaco settled for a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg after the hosts took the lead with an own goal from Sadio Sané, before Paris Brunner equalised with a stunning strike, meaning Luis's team lost their first two points of the season while maintaining their unbeaten record.
