Awad close to starting against AS Port

Mohamed Awad, the goalkeeper for Zamalek SC, is close to participating in the match against AS Port, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, in the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, according to the newspaper "Youm7".

The newspaper reported that Zamalek SC's coach Ma'tamed Gamal is following a strategy aimed at rotating roles among the trio of goalkeepers: Mohamed Awad, Mohamed Sobhi, and Mehdi Suleiman. In this context, Sobhi started in the first leg against AS Port, while Awad is preparing to be the starting goalkeeper in the decisive second leg.

Zamalek SC will face ÉS Port from Djibouti tomorrow, Saturday, at Cairo International Stadium, at 8 PM Cairo and Mecca time.

Zamalek SC won the first leg against AS Port 2-1 and needs to maintain its advantage in the return leg to secure qualification to the CAF Champions League Round of 32 and continue its journey in the continental competition.
