Valencia coach criticises Rodri harshly

Carlos Corberán, Valencia's head coach, expressed his displeasure at the words spoken by Rodri, FC Barcelona player, regarding his team during the recent match between the two sides.

Cameras from Movistar recently captured a private conversation between Rodri and his teammate Pau Koubarsi, during which the FC Barcelona player criticized Valencia's level, describing their players as weak. He pointed out that they did not cross the halfway line in the second half and questioned the team's position in last season's standings.

Despite Rodri later apologising to José Luis Gayà, the Valencia captain, and issuing a public apology, Curbelo still views what happened as unfortunate.

Valencia's coach stated during the press conference before the match against Sevilla in LaLiga: "These are very unfortunate words, and they are not words from a player who respects his colleagues in the profession. Gayà took the initiative to speak with him, and we accept his public apology and see that he did what he was supposed to do."

He added: "But even if the talk was private, Rodri received applause from the stands, and that is unfortunate."
