Advocaat extends contract with Curaçao until 2027

The Curaçao Football Federation announced today, Wednesday, the extension of veteran Dutch coach Dick Advocaat's contract to lead the national team until July 31, 2027.

The extension decision came after Dick Advocaat led Curaçao to the FIFA World Cup 2026 for the first time in its history, before returning to coach the team during the tournament after resigning in February for family reasons.

The federation praised the achievements of the national team under Advocaat's leadership, confirming that the extension aims to maintain stability and continue building on the progress the team has made in recent times.

Advocaat said: "We have achieved something special together, and I look forward to continuing to build on what we have accomplished with the players and the coaching staff."

Curaçao secured a historic point in the FIFA World Cup 2026 after drawing with Ecuador 0-0, before finishing their group stage campaign with a loss to Germany 1-7 and Côte d'Ivoire 0-2.

Advocaat is expected to announce the Curaçao squad soon in preparation for the Concacaf Nations League matches against Costa Rica and Nicaragua and Trinidad and Tobago.
