Tunisian international Omar Rekik has confirmed his future for the 2026-2027 season, after Ludogorets officially announced his signing from Maribor, closing the door on a potential move to Esperance Tunis.

Omar Rekik has been strongly linked with Esperance Tunis in recent weeks as the club's management enters official negotiations with the 24-year-old defender, as part of the team's efforts to compensate for the departure of several key players in the backline, including Mohamed Amine Tougai, Mohamed Amine Ben Hamida, and Yassine Meriah.

Esperance Tunis's chances of signing Omar Rekik have increased, especially with talk of an enticing financial offer made to the player. However, negotiations have not reached a final agreement, leading the international defender to choose to continue his professional career outside the Tunisian league.

Ludogorets announced today, Tuesday, via its official website, the completion of the transfer of Omar Rekik from Maribor, without disclosing the duration of the contract or the financial value of the agreement. The Bulgarian club clarified that the player successfully passed the medical examinations and fitness tests before officially completing the procedures to join the team.

Omar Rekik is set to join Ludogorets training on Wednesday as he prepares for his new experience with the club known as 'the Eagles'.
