Aston Villa begin European campaign with valuable win over Club Brugge

Aston Villa achieved a valuable and exciting win against their hosts Club Brugge with a score of 3-2, in the match that took place on Tuesday evening at the Jan Breydel Stadium, as part of the first round of the group stage in the UEFA Champions League.

With this victory, Aston Villa collected their first three points in the tournament, while Club Brugge remains without any points after their defeat in the opening round.

Aston Villa started the match strongly, with John McGinn opening the scoring in the 11th minute, before Hugo Vetlesen managed to equalise for Club Brugge in the 19th minute.

Aston Villa responded quickly, with Buendía restoring their lead with a second goal in the 22nd minute, before new signing Nicolas Jackson enhanced the score by netting the third goal in the 43rd minute.

In the second half, Club Brugge succeeded in reducing the deficit after Nicolò Tresoldi scored a penalty in the 61st minute, but the hosts were unable to equalise, ending the match with Aston Villa winning 3-2 and achieving a perfect start in the UEFA Champions League.
