Mohamed Atef: John Edward forced me to leave Zamalek

Mohamed Atef, a player for Talaea El Gaish and on loan from Zamalek SC, spoke about the circumstances surrounding his exit from the white club, confirming that former sporting director John Edward forced him to leave the team.

Mohamed Atef, during statements made on the «ON E» channel, said that he has been focusing on giving his best since going out on loan and proving that his joining Zamalek SC was not a coincidence, especially after facing criticism regarding the transfer and his level with the team.

He added: "I have been focusing since my loan exit and I want to prove to people that I did not join Zamalek SC by chance. There was some negative talk, but I took this season as a challenge from the start, and it was said that my signings were not the best thing. God willing, it will be a good season and I will return to Zamalek SC again."

Talaea El Gaish player Mohamed Atef discussed the details of his departure from Zamalek SC, confirming that the two-season loan was not his choice. He stated: "My loan for two seasons from Zamalek SC was not by my own will, and I did not agree to it; I was forced to leave by the former sporting director John Edward."

Mohamed Atef stated: "I am happy to be with Talaea El Gaish and there are no pressures, and I am being treated well. No one from Zamalek SC has contacted me to return."

Mohamed Atef concluded his statements by affirming his ambition to wear the Egypt national team jersey during the upcoming period, saying: "I hope to join the Egypt national team, and there has been no communication with me."
