Postponement of JS Kabylie and MC Algiers classic and new adjustments to the second round
The Professional Football League announced a series of adjustments to the schedule for the second round of the 2026-2027 season on Sunday, which included the postponement of several matches and changes to the timing of other encounters.
The league has decided to postpone the upcoming 'classico' between JS Kabylie and MC Algiers, as well as the match between JS Saoura and USM Alger, which were scheduled to take place on October 6, due to the commitments of MC Algiers and JS Saoura in continental competitions.
The decision comes as Algerian football representatives are approaching the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, scheduled to take place home and away from October 11 to 18.
JS Saoura won the first leg against Horoya Conakry with a score of 1-0, awaiting the second leg match in Guinea. Meanwhile, MC Algiers drew with Niger's Nigélik in a positive result, ahead of the return leg scheduled for next Saturday at Ali Amaar Stadium in Douira.
In contrast, the league has decided to bring forward the match between ES Ben Aknoun and USM Alger, scheduled for next Thursday at the 20 Août 1955 Stadium, by one hour, starting at 7 PM instead of 8 PM.
The match between USM Alger and their visitors JS Abiar has been postponed by one hour, and will now take place at the 5 July 1962 Stadium starting at 9 PM instead of 8 PM.
The league has maintained the schedule for the western summit between MC Oran and JS Témouchent, set for Friday at 7 PM at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium. There has also been no change to the match between CR Belouizdad and ES Sétif, which will take place on the same day at the 5 July 1962 Stadium starting at 9 PM.
The governing body has maintained the timings for Saturday's matches, with USM Alger facing Olympique Akbou at the 18 Février Stadium in Ouargla starting at 7 PM, while CS Constantine will host ASO Chlef at the Stade du 8 Mai 1945 at 9 PM.
