Referee appointed for FC Barcelona vs Feyenoord in the Champions League

UEFA has appointed German referee Sven Jablonski to officiate the match between FC Barcelona and Feyenoord, scheduled for Wednesday at Spotify Camp Nou, as part of the Catalan team's opening round in the current edition of the UEFA Youth League.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Yablonsky, aged 36, will officiate his first match in European competitions this season, while his fellow countryman, the experienced Bastian Dankert, will take on the role of assistant video referee.

This will be the first match that Jablonski leads for FC Barcelona at the European level, and it will also be the first time he officiates a game at Spotify Camp Nou, marking an important milestone for the German referee.

Yablonsky has only one previous experience with Spanish clubs, having officiated a match last season that ended in Villarreal's defeat to Pafos FC by a goal to nil. He has also officiated matches for Spain's under-19 team, as well as a match for Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League.

On the other hand, Barcelona's match will also be the first in which Jabłonski officiates a Feyenoord game in European competitions, although he has previously officiated matches for Dutch clubs, including Alkmaar and Ajax.
