Chelsea have placed Alex Scott, AFC Bournemouth midfielder, at the top of their list of targets to replace the departed Enzo Fernández, who has moved to Manchester City. The player has become one of the key options that the Blues' management is targeting to strengthen their midfield.

According to journalist David Ornstein, Chelsea have made strong efforts to sign Alex Scott, submitting several offers to the club, but AFC Bournemouth have held on to the midfielder and refused to part with him, as the club is keen to retain its key players.

Chelsea have made offers worth around £65 million, with reports indicating attempts in the range of £65 to £75 million, but AFC Bournemouth have rejected all attempts and kept the player in their squad.

Alex Scott has two years remaining on his contract with AFC Bournemouth, giving his club a strong position in any future negotiations regarding the player.

Despite Chelsea's failure to finalize the deal during the summer, the London club may make another attempt to sign Alex Scott during the January transfer window, especially if the team continues to need a midfielder capable of compensating for the departure of Enzo Fernández.

AFC Bournemouth appear unwilling to sell Alex Scott easily, having managed to retain several key players during the summer, including the English player, despite offers that have come in from big clubs.
