Raphinha nears historic record with FC Barcelona

Raphinha continues to shine for FC Barcelona at the start of the 2026/2027 season, having scored five goals in the first three rounds of LaLiga, including two against Elche, one against Athletic Bilbao, and a brace against Rayo Vallecano.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Raphinha's goal against Valencia will see him equal the achievement of László Kubala, Caetano Ré, and Cesc Fàbregas, who scored in the first four rounds of LaLiga.

Kopala's achievement dates back to the 1953/1954 season, while Caetano's was in 1964/1965, and Cesc Fàbregas achieved it in the 2011/2012 season.

The record of scoring in five consecutive matches in the league has only been achieved by Cézar Rodríguez in the 1950/1951 season and Zlatan Ibrahimović in the 2009/2010 season.

In the 21st century, Lionel Messi remains the only player to have scored in four consecutive official matches since the start of the season, achieving this feat in the 2011/2012 season.
