UEFA reveals sanctions for Guendouzi and Greenwood

UEFA's disciplinary body has announced its sanctions on Fenerbahçe players following the events that occurred after their match against Olympique Lyon in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.

The disciplinary committee has suspended Frenchman Matteo Guendouzi for 4 matches in UEFA Champions League competitions, with a two-match ban suspended for one year on probation, and fined him €50,000. This decision comes as a result of insulting individuals present at the match, provoking fans, and violating conduct rules.

Consequently, Gendouzi will miss the match against Fenerbahçe, scheduled for Thursday, September 10, in the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

In contrast, Mason Greenwood has received a €30,000 fine, along with a one-match suspension, but the execution of the penalty has been suspended for a year under probation, meaning he will be available to participate against AS Roma.

UEFA has imposed fines totaling €95,000 on Fenerbahçe, including €30,000 for igniting and throwing pyrotechnics, €15,000 for crowd behavior, and €50,000 for violating general and fundamental conduct rules.
