Everton consider signing Jamie Vardy

Everton are considering signing veteran English striker Jamie Vardy, who is 39 years old, on a free transfer, according to TalkSPORT.

Everton are urgently seeking a new striker following Beto's departure to Fiorentina, and their attempts to sign Florian Balogun from AS Monaco have failed. Manchester United have also rejected a loan offer for Joshua Zirkzee, leaving only Thierno Barry as the current striker in the squad.

Vardy is available for free after leaving Cremonese, where he scored seven goals last season despite the team's relegation to the second tier.

Jamie Vardy has an exceptional record in the Premier League, having scored 145 goals. He was the league's top scorer in the 2019-2020 season and led Leicester to their historic title in the 2015-2016 season.
